Wm. S. Haynes Closed Hole Sterling Silver Flute Excellent Condition

I am the original and only owner of this wonderful instrument, having received it as a birthday gift in 1951 (#22104). It was handmade in solid sterling silver during the Golden Age of flute-making, characterized by a warm, rich tone and ease of playability. It served me well through two summers at Interlochen music camp and then in the concert band at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Throughout my ownership, this flute has been lovingly cared for.
The Haynes Company did a complete overhaul in 1991 resulting in a like-new flute.
In more recent years, the flute has been resting in its case, waiting for a new owner. It is still in excellent condition. There are 3 barely visible surface dents on the mouthpiece (see photo 10), which do not affect playability. The instrument comes in its original black leather case with a cleaning rod.
