Description:
A thin crescent moon wraps around the sinuous handle of a witch's broom. Bound with a "braided" rope, the bristles have delicate waves that add a subtle liveliness to the design. The broomstick itself is textured with a woodgrain pattern, finishing with the rounded, cut cross section of the branch at the top.
The wax model for this pendant was painstakingly carved by hand and then cast in sterling silver using the ancient lost wax process.
The traditional witch's broom was made from an ash handle with the twigs from a birch tree tied to the end with thin pieces of willow wood. The broom is a symbol of the union of masculine energies (the phallic handle) and feminine energies (the birch used for the bristles is thought of as having a feminine energy) and is often used as a tool for cleansing and purifying a space before a ritual.

We pride ourselves carrying only the most beautiful and compelling designs. We also design and manufacture some of our own pieces. 90% of the jewelry in our store is pure sterling silver, but because our aim is to offer as many affordable pieces as possible, we do carry a small number of pendants in safe, lead-free pewter, and lead-free metal alloys. When an item is not pure sterling silver, this is clearly listed in both the title and the description.
How We Ship:
We package your order in the safest and most eco-friendly way we can, that both protects your jewelry piece and is still a nice package to receive. Most sturdy pendants come in our custom jewelry pouch in a bubble envelope, while more delicate and three-dimensional items like earrings and rings come with the added protection of a shipping box. In either case, we make sure your jewelry is well-protected for shipping. We rush our orders to the Post Office every day (and sometimes twice a day, including Saturdays) and ship via First Class Mail, but we also offer Priority and Express Mail shipping options in case you need it faster.
International Orders:
Please note that your country may charge you an additional customs fee when the package reaches your country. I am sorry, but I have no way of knowing how much they will charge.
