Up for auction is a vintage and gently used William S. Haynes handmade plateau model flute with C foot joint. This flute has recently been professionally serviced(cleaned, polished, all pads are new and necessary corks were replaced, keys and mechanisms are tight).
The head joint has the number "7" engraved near the makers mark(somewhat rare), tubing wall thickness is .014 inches(thin wall) and the serial number is in the upper 18,xxx range, which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1947. There are no major dents present and the minor surface scratches don't affect playability. This closed hole(plateau model) flute has soldered tone holes, an offset G key, pointed key cups and the headjoint/body/keys are all solid silver.  Included is a somewhat used Haynes wood shell flute case(the latches function as intended, exterior has wear and the leather hinge is intact, one interior flute body support is missing), two silver end caps, and a cleaning rod.
