VINTAGE ENGLISH VINERS OF SHEFFIELD ALPHA SILVER PLATE WINE COASTER

Description

This is a beautiful old Sheffield Silverplate (on copper) galleried wine bottle coaster made by Viners. Guessing on it being Victorian in design. Actually don't know. But this has a beautiful Bakelite bottom/base, which in my mind places it solidly to be from the 40s.
The coaster has a very pretty swagged design and with an unusual Bakelite base would suit anyone's fine dining.
It is in good condition with little sign of any base metal bleeding through the plate.
There is a pictured crack in the metal-wrapped base about .050 wide, and there are discolored or dirty areas. It measures 10 cms diameter x 4 cms high.
