A great opportunity to acquire a very rare wooden flute by one of the very respected flute makers from Germany. This instrument has a special tuning. While most of the modern Boehm flutes are tuned in C, this one is built, tuned and sounding higher in D flat. Nevertheless, it is not just a collector's item, but is in perfect, usable instrument, comes in nice condition, with good pads and crack-free wood.
Gustav Reinhold Uebel (1873-1960) founded his workshop at 1910 in Erlbach/Saxony in the heart of the German instrument making area. Even his ancestors were involved in the woodwind instrument making. After his fathers death Gustav Reinhold Uebel Jr. (1918-1981) took over the workshop but this lovely Db wooden flute was definitely made by Gustav Reinhold Uebel Senior as the label “Migma” is clearly visible on the instrument and the Uebel flutes were distributed by Migma between
1946-1958.
This very unique beautiful fully hand-made wooden Db flute comes with two headjoints, one of them is reform-head while the other one is made of wood. It has a lovely rich quality of sound and is easy to blow in all registers with both headjoints. I have never seen an Uebel wooden Boehm flute tuned in D flat beside this one.
Professional repairer has taken this instrument completely apart and checked all mechanism before reassembling and adjusting.
