MICROPHONE DUST COVER & PROTECTOR
Using a microphone dust cover is important for several reasons:
Microphone diaphragms are “working” even when the mic is not plugged in, which means there is mechanical movement at the diaphragms 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A mic dust cover will help you to avoid possible damaging noises and conditions, and keep your condenser mic in tip-top shape.
Microphones not in operation should never be left on the stand unprotected. By design, condenser mic capsules and the amplifier circuit are of an extremely high impedance. Dust, ash, smoke, and other pollutants can degrade the insulating properties of the materials used for this part of the microphone. A non-fluffy dust cover will help protect the mic from dust settling on the capsule.
When moving your microphones from place to place, it is best to enclose and protect them by using a dust cover (or box).
These microphone dust covers, manufactured by DigitalDeckCovers, are a great way to protect your valuable microphones. Not only do they protect mics from the damage mentioned above, but they are a more stylish alternative to say, a plastic bag (which can trap moisture inside and damage the mic).
This microphone cover is made from black brushed bull denim, a soft (but strong) cotton fabric.
We also offer a premium version, made of doublesided quilted black nylon, which is perfect for moving or storing your fragile and expensive mics. This premium fabric option features quilted satin nylon fabric on both sides, double-stuffed with polyester insulation in-between, giving you the ultimate in protection for your equipment. Each  microphone cover also has a drawstring cord around the bottom, so you can tighten the cover for accommodating mics of various sizes, or for covering mics mounted upside down on a stand.
The size of each microphone cover is approximately 6” wide by 12” long, capable of fitting most mics and shock mounts (but to be sure, we advise measuring your microphone. We can custom make a bigger size if needed).
All of our dust covers are sewn with heavy duty thread to ensure your cover will never fray at the seams or come apart like those with more common binded openings. Proudly made in the USA.
