Werner Tomasi began his musical training at the age of six. His musical career led him to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
The winner of the WANAS Foundation of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra used to take part in concerts by various ensembles and orchestras.
Tomasi's approach to flute making is largely shaped by the perspective of the experienced flutist and is rooted in his endeavor to make the sound characteristics of the flute scientifically and rationally comprehensible. Since 1986 he has carried out various research projects on flute construction in cooperation with the Institute for Viennese Sound Style of the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and funded by the research promotion fund of the commercial economy.
