Presented is an archival Jeanine Payer necklace from c.2011.
This is the Bay necklace in brass.
It features a large crescent shape with Lao Tzu’s “We join spokes together in a wheel...” engraved down the center (the words are rotated 90°). The rings on the side are sterling silver, and the pendant hangs on a long piece of braided fabric.
All of the work is done by hand, from the cutting of the crescent shape to the exquisite engraving.
We’ve had a few of Payer’s gold and silver pieces, but it’s so cool to see her designing a large-scale piece in this warm metal.
Marks
Back is stamped with the JP maker’s mark
Measurements
The crescent is 4” across (not including the sterling rings)
The necklace is about 32” long
Condition
The lady we got this from kept it in great condition, always maintaining its lustrous finish and storing it in a soft cloth pouch when not in use.
I don’t see any serious issues with this piece.
