It will come as no secret to most flute players that the quality of the head joint determines a great deal of the overall playability of a flute.
This
Muramatsu
head joint is from their
DS Professional Series
and is made of
Sterling Silver
(.925) and has a
Gold Plated Lip Plate
and
Riser
with the
Gold Plating
extending throughout the inside of the head joint.
Interestingly enough, the extensive
Gold Plating
has a substantial and very positive effect on the sonics of the head joint and therefore on the entire flute. The resulting sonority is large with extra robustness and a much more interesting tone palette.

(and many others as well) but some adjustment may be necessary
