    Description

This is a Lakota Bird Head Flute & Elk Hide carrying case. The flute is made from Eastern Cedar and air dried for 2 years and won't crack because it has been dried carefully with both ends painted with enamel to ensure precise drying. The swirls in the wood are typical of Lakota ceremonial object designs and also the diamond shape. The flute is painted with arcylic and sealed with bees wax. The length on the flute is 27-3/4 inches and 2-1/4 inch height at the bird head and 3 inch  height at the tone adjustment. The tone adjustment is 3 inch high  and it needs to be taken off the flute and stored in a little pouch becuse it won't fit in the case while on the flute, therefore it needs to be taken off the flute and inserted into the case. When the flute is prepared to play the tone adjuster is tied onto the flute and tone set by adjusting to tune. I include a discription on how to adjust the tone. The key of the flute is at "G", a six hole 7 note flute. The beads are glass and the design is "Gods Eye with clouds and lightning " The swirls in the wood represent the wind one of the most powerful forces on earth, the Elk Hide case is made with a plastic tube and is decorated with the Lakota mountain design showing 4 mountains. The shoulder strap is Nylon with arrow design and four direction designs with cow hide shoulder rest. The inside of the case is lined with 100% cotton fabric and red felt at the opening and measures 32-1/2 inch in length and 3-1/4 inch in diameter All Elk Hide.
