Moonstone Pendant Necklace

Description

The two oval shape cabochon Moonstones are mounted on bezel silver setting. Although the metal is unmarked it is of sterling silver. I repurposed the chain necklace by attaching two lobster closures on both ends and hooked them to the moonstone pendant. You can easily unhooked the pendant from one of the lobster closure. You can also  change the metal chain necklace to anything you see fit.
One of the moonstones has a translucent white color with blue reflection that illuminates under the right lighting. The other cabochon is also a translucent moonstone without the iridescence. The silver frames have a
well polished look which is not exactly captured in their photo images.
Length of chain necklace: 18 inches.
Size of Moonstone cabochon: 1 inch long and ¾ inch wide.
Moonstone is one of the modern June birthstones and an accepted gem for the 13th wedding anniversary. It belongs to the large mineral family of feldspars. It is an opalescent stone which can range from colorless to blue, peach, green, pink, yellow, brown or gray with a silvery sheen. This iridescence in moonstone is called adularescence. Clarity ranges from transparent to translucent. Rainbow moonstone is milky white with a rainbow colored sheen. It is the most valuable form of feldspar and is composed of albite, which gives it the bluish sheen and feldspar.
