Description

This vintage Chinese leopard jasper necklace is a beautifully color-matched set of (62) 10mm beads, and a 2 1/8" pendant, carved on both sides as a gourd. The length of the beads, not including the pendant, is 27 inches. The jasper is a rich brown-red mahogany color with some striking white and black mottling. The gemstone beads and pendant are hand-knotted with silk cord.
The name jasper comes from the Greek word "jaspri", meaning spotted stone. Leopard jasper is reddish and spotted with beautiful patterns.
