Item Description
This Lafin flute headjoint has a tube and lip-plate made of sterling silver (.925), with a 14k gold adler inlay in the lipplate. The riser is also made of 14k gold, which gives the headjoint a rich and warm sound. The "adler" inlay are small wings in the lip plate that come to the benefit of the low frequencies. The result is a head joint with a robustness and richness which has to be heard to be believed.
About J.R. Lafin flute headjoints
Jörg-Rainer Lafin
studied flute with Aurèle Nicolet and later played the first flute in the Deutsche Oper Berlin and later with the Berlin Radio Orchestra and as regular guest-player with the Berliner Philharmoniker under, among others, Herbert von Karajan.
Throughout his career as flutist, Lafin cooperated with flute makers to improve their designs and moved to Japan in 1979 where he was trained in flute head-joint building by Muramatsu. Later he moved to England to work with the legendary flute maker Albert Cooper.
JR Lafin has built a strong reputation in making head-joint from his workshop in Lörrach in the South of Germany. He is known for continuously experimenting and improving the design of his head joints and he emerges today as one of the premium builders of flute head joints.

We ship worldwide. We take care in packing our articles safely. All instruments sold by us are carefully set up and play-checked prior to shipping. You will receive a notification and tracking number that your shipment went out.

: We ship with Netherlands Priority Post. Delivery is 2 - 5 working days.
United States
: We ship with UPS Expedited (2-4 business days)
Rest of the World
: We ship with Netherlands Priority Post which then hooks up with delivery companies such as USPS. Delivery worldwide is usually 1 - 2 weeks.
If you wish to have your order send with a different postal service that is possible. Please let us know and we will contact you regarding the possibilities and possible extra costs.
Returns
: We extend 30 days time to either fall in love with your purchase or return it. If you decide to return it we will refund your money and we ask you to pay the return shipping only.
