Gemeinhardt M2S Solid Silver Flute Serial #405916 with Case & Cleaning Rod
Each of the 3 sections of this flute is marked "Solid Silver", I have shown all the markings on the flute including Solid Silver on each section. My understanding is that the keys are silver plated but the 3 tube sections are all solid silver.
I looked at the Gemeinhardt Instruments web page and the current price for their solid silver flute is8.00, even if this one needs a complete rebuild which it does not it would still cost about half of that to have a like new solid silver flute.
I am not an instrument guy. I found this flute at a house clean out sale.
There is one dent. It is on the mouthpiece section, see 2 close up photos of the small dent. I believe the pads are in good condition but I'm not an instrument guy. Selling this Flute AS IS for use, parts, repair or scrap silver..
Total weight of the flute is about 15 ounces, less the weight of the keys (estimated at about 3 ounces max) leaves an estimated 12 ounces of solid silver.
