DAVID WIMBERLY 14k solid gold flute HEAD JOINT.

Description

14K SOLID GOLD head joint with 14k solid gold riser and lip plate. The crown is sterling silver. The tenon diameter averages .774". The embouchure hole was recut by Albert Cooper himself, in London, in 1999 to make the head more free-blowing. This fact can be confirmed by my well-known flute teacher in Los Angeles from whom I originally bought the head. This head was serviced by the original maker, David Wimberly, in Canada last month. A new head cork was installed and adjusted and the overall head tube was checked to original manufactured dimensions.
The condition is perfect. There are no deep scratches, dings or dents, or damage. Any "scratches" in the photos are reflections. There are only very minor wear marks as this head has been lightly used by an adult non-smoker.
There are no trials with this head joint because of past bad experiences including using an instrument or head joint for a professional performance and then returning it (to avoid a purchase or rental expense) and also one instance of another head joint being resized and then returned.
