C Natural Bamboo Flute, Classical Flute, Handmade Flute from Natural Bamboo,20in
The Bamboo Flute is a wind instrument that has appeared since ancient times, manufactured by many peoples around the world with many different forms, structures, and uses, such as the Chinese bamboo flute, the Indian bamboo flute, etc. In Vietnam, the bamboo flute is a popular ethnic musical instrument, appearing in many traditional festivals, performing arts activities, and being an indispensable part of the village culture of Vietnam.
The Vietnamese flute is a compact, lightweight musical instrument with a good timbre, rich expression, and a wide vocal range that can be used for solo or in concert with other modern musical instruments. The sound of the flute is both clear, holy, joyful, and tender, earnest, expressing many emotions of the player. Vietnamese people often liken the sweet and passionate sound of the bamboo flute to a mother's lullaby. Not only that, it also evokes peace in our hearts, helping to heal negative emotions. Playing the flute will help the player relax, relieve stress, and create more vital energy, which also helps one reduce illness, as stress is known to increase the likelihood of illness.
The Vietnamese flute that we would like to introduce to you is a horizontal flute, consisting of 1 blowing hole located in a row of 6 holes close together, 1 or 2 definite sounding holes, and holes for hanging decorative strings (if applicable). This 6-hole flute can play 3 intervals, which is equivalent to 19 notes. The flute is hand-crafted and meticulously tuned to make it sound accurate and can be harmonized with background music and other musical instruments. The playing style of this flute will be a bit more difficult than that of the vertical flute, but we believe it will be a very interesting challenge for you.
The Vietnamese horizontal flute can be made from many different materials: various kinds of bamboo, wood, etc., but the most common material used to make the Vietnamese horizontal flute is a kind of bamboo named Schizostachyum. The type of bamboo used must be an old, good, and highly aesthetic one. In Vietnam, there are two types of bamboo used to make flutes: Southern bamboo and Northern bamboo (distinguished based on the distribution location of the bamboo grown in the North or the South of Vietnam). Southern bamboo is a beautiful type of bamboo with a small surface stain and a golden color. Northern bamboo has a darker color. Although the Northern bamboo's appearance is not as beautiful as the Southern one, the sound of the Northern bamboo flute is warmer than the Southern one.
Under the talented hands of flute-makers, the rudimentary and thin bamboo trunks have been honed and refined into a bamboo flute that can emit attractive treble and bass sounds.
The Vietnamese flute has a full range of sharp and flat keys, that are hand-crafted, well-measured, and well-tuned. Vietnamese flutes are often left rough. Even the professional flutes are not polished, varnished, or sprayed, but are often left rough to retain the original clear sound of the bamboo tube.
The holes on the flute are not circular but oval. After locating and drilling the round hole, the artisans will have to use a special knife to cut the oval shape. This is for better sound passing through the flute, and the oval shape also makes it easier to seal the hole when blowing. This work requires meticulousness and absolute precision because it greatly affects the sound quality of the flute.
    Flute in C-Key
The C-Key Flute is the most popular and commonly used flute, for beginners to professionals. It is called the "C-Key flute" because the lowest note is a C note. Other key flutes will have a higher or lower sound depending on the key of the flute, but it may take more air to blow.
Besides the C-key flute, there are many other types of flutes, such as the D-key flute, E-key flute, F-key flute, G-key flute, etc., which is smaller than the C-key flute, and it has a high-pitched, high-pitched sound like a bird's voice. These types are often used in orchestras, sometimes solo. The Bb-key flute is warmer because it is louder and lower than the C-key flute by a half step. You should choose the flute by age to match the finger size and hole of the flute to be more convenient for learners.
    - About 8-9 years old should use the F-key flute.
    - About 12-14 years old should use the E-key flute.
    - If you are older, you should use the D or C-key flute.
