Description
This rare Brannen-Cooper headjoint is made of Rose Silver and has a 14K Gold Riser. The style is Modified Cooper, #03311. The head joint is marked "CSP" under the trade mark.Rose Silver is a metal Brannon Brothers Flutemakers used in 2004 to make flutes. It is silver and gets it rose color from copper. I ordered one of these flutes and liked it very much, but because of the alloy used, the flute tarnished excessively. Brannon Brothers recalled all of these Rose Silver flutes and replaced them with silver models. We buyers were permitted to keep the original Rose Silver headjoint, and that's what I am selling here.
The photo of the bill of sale describes the Modified Cooper headjoint and the extra 5 for the 14K gold riser charged in 2004. In my hands (I've since retired from flute playing) the headjoint was very responsive and warm, and I often used it on my silver Brannen flute. It probably has some scratches but no obvious imperfections.
This headjoint does tarnish faster than a silver headjoint, but being smooth it is easy to keep clean. The gold riser does not tarnish differently from any other 14 carat gold, of course. Photos show the headjoint without any recent polishing. The warm color is very nice.
It's unlikely this headjoint will fit your flute right out of the box, odds are against it, but you can take it to a flute technician who can fit it for you. However, the best thing to do is to first ask your flute tech what they think about fitting *any* new headjoint onto your particular flute body.
The headjoint will ship carefully packaged by FedEx or US Postal Service. I am not accepting return of this headjoint.
Please ask me any questions BEFORE you bid. I'll do my best to answer, and I love to hear from people in advance. --Karla Harby
