    Description

Baroque Flute after Quantz in Grenadilla by Martin Wenner, A=392.
Selling this fantastic instrument only to finance another purchase.
This flute was originally built in 2013, and shortly afterward suffered two cracks in the headjoint due to improper storage. When I acquired the instrument in 2018, I had the cracks re-glued and additional carbon fiber threading implanted by Daniel Deitch in San Francisco. The work is impeccable, and the cracks have neither moved nor opened up since, despite periods of significant playing. I do not feel that the performance of the flute has suffered in any way.
Wenner's A=392 Quantz copy is one of the most successful interpretations of the originals on the market. An instrument that plays as beautifully as it looks, many of the intonation quirks that exist on other maker's Quantz flutes have been ironed out, and the oval embouchure hole is remarkably Palanca-esque. This flute speaks with a big, beefy tone, rapid-fire response, and a significant amount of volume.
This flute features screw-cork assembly, brass-lined headjoint socket, tuning slide, and Two Silver Keys for D# and Eb.
This instrument can be heard on my CD with the Berlin Friday Academy, found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13x_9ewUIAM
