DeoxIT FaderLube F-Series 2mL 100% solution
Squeeze tube (hey, it is small! 2cc!) provides about 50 drops of DeoxIT product.
On particularly dirty faders/sliders, use DeoxIT D series mini spray to flush away grime, then after allowing time to dry, follow up with 100% FaderLube.
Small size is great to leave in the tool kit to use for field treatment.
DeoxIT® Fader F-Series is a precision lubricant specifically formulated to improve conductivity and lubricate
conductive plastic
and
carbon compound faders
, switches and other similar components. Over time these components lose their original lubrication from wear and/or repeated cleaning. Dust, dirt, drink spills and other contamination also degrade the components' lubricant. The need for re-lubrication is necessary to avoid excess wear and abrasion to the plastic surfaces.
Another use for DeoxIT® Fader is on conductive membrane switches and components. Oil, grease and acids build up on the membrane surfaces due to repeated finger contact and can lead to device malfunction. Applying DeoxIT® FaderLube will provide a long-lasting barrier against these types of contamination. The oil, grease and acids will be displaced above the DeoxIT® Fader layer preventing contact with the plastic membrane.
Uses:
Lubrication/protection of plastic-to-plastic parts (faders), plastic-to-metal parts (faders, linear sliders - dot matrix printers), metal-to-metal parts (sliding and slow rotating metal parts, locks, bearings), carbon-based controls (potentiometers) and membrane switches (mouse pointers, touch keypads).
Fader Maintenance
The following guidelines have been established based on the experience and feedback of technical
professionals, end users and our own years of testing and evaluation.
Routine Maintenance - general wear and tear:
1. Apply 1-2 bursts/drops of DeoxIT
®
FaderLube
100%
to fader.
2. Manually operate faders 5-10 times to displace surface contaminants and distribute lubrication. It
may be necessary to repeat this step the following day, depending on condition of fader.
Faders that have had drinks spilled on them are treated a bit differently:
Emergency Maintenance - drink spills, excessive dirt and moisture:
1. Apply 1-2 bursts of DeoxIT
®
FaderLube
5%
solution to contact surface.
2. Manually operate faders 5-10 times to remove/displace surface contaminants.
3. Apply 1-2 bursts/drops of DeoxIT
®
FaderLube
100%
solution to cleaned surface
and manually operate the fader 5-10 times to replace lubrication necessary for proper function. I may be necessary to repeat this
step the following day, depending on condition of fader.
